Things to Do
The Den and Orchard is set in Frome, Somerset, close to the border of Wiltshire. This means that there is lots to do within a short drive. We’ve put together a list of places and attractions you may like to visit.
The Fox Takeaway – The Den and Orchard is on the grounds of The Fox Takeaway, open Fridays and Saturdays (opening times will vary during campsite season). You can see the menu here.
Palette and Pasture – Somerset Gelato – Palette and Pasture is based at Pyle Farm, in the village of Trudoxhill, on the outskirts of Frome, in rural Somerset. Palette and Pasture make their own delicious gelato from the small dairy herd at Pyle Farm. This is sold at the on-farm Ice Cream Parlour. The Ice Cream Parlour has indoor heating, toilets, and baby changing facilities. Free parking. Pedal Tractors, Children’s Digger Pit. Animals to meet and feed in Spring, Summer & Autumn. Palette and Pasture also host seasonal children’s trails and pick your own events throughout the year.
Wind Hill Bike Park – Recently completed mountain biking trails through the forests of Longleat.
Longleat House & Gardens -Enjoy a day out in the beautiful Longleat grounds. A day pass will give you access to the house, safari and a huge amount of other attractions.
Stourhead – Take a walk around the house and gardens at this gorgeous National Trust site.
Frome – We are located on the outskirts of Frome, home of The Cheese and Grain, Frome Independent Market and the stunning Catherine Hill to name but a few.

Hauser and Wirth – A world-class gallery and arts centre, built around core beliefs of conservation, education, and sustainability.
Bath – A place for some retail therapy, site seeing, and natural hot springs.
